BIFF, TIFF, Film Fra Sør, Kosmorama, and Oslo Pix came to us with a challenge: How do we get a digital-first generation to engage with film festivals in the real world, with a solution that needed to work for every film festival in Norway, across different seasons, and generes.

Problem

Post-pandemic; young generations are feeling lonely and anxious. But with endless entertainment on their phones, staying in feels safer than seeking out real experiences.

Insight

Gen Z doesn’t follow logic, they follow feelings. Every decision is driven by the mood they're in. Heartbroken, nostalgic, or in need of a thrill - film festivals are the ultimate place to feel it all.

With a custom microsites for each festival - pairing curated, mood-based film lists with meme-savvy, personality-driven copy. One main video to create awereness before festival start, and bite-sized retargeting videos during the festival - guiding the audience to the films that matched their mood.
