Breaking Down Silos – Through Art and Real Experiences

Kunstsilo

Kunstsilo, an ambitious new art museum in Kristiansand, opened its doors in 2024. Housed in a transformed mid-20th-century grain silo, it now stands as a cathedral of culture - home to the world’s largest collection of Nordic modernism. From the start, Kunstsilo sparked debate, positioning itself as a bold institution designed to shift perspectives.

In the years leading up to Kunstsilo’s grand opening we had the opportunity to bring the brand to life before a single visitor stepped inside. Making Kunstsilo feel real, relevant, and essential long before its grand opening.

Bringing the Brand to Life

Tasked with transforming Kunstsilos brand strategy, Shifting Perspectives, into a dynamic and engaging presence, I helped develop and execute the creative communication platform Breaking Down Silos – Through Art and Real Experiences. Rooted in accessibility and inclusion, this platform invited people to engage with Kunstsilo in unexpected, transformative ways - sparking new perspectives and deeper connections.

We introduced Kunstsilo across multiple touchpoints, focusing on building anticipation, driving engagement, and leading sales. Through communication ideas, creative concepts, activation strategies, and a strong digital presence, we built a solid foundation for Kunstsilo to start building their relationship with future visitors.

Shifting Perspectives, Breaking Down Silos

At its heart, the platform reflected Kunstsilo’s open and reflective identity. Breaking down traditional silos of how art is communicated, making it more accessible, inclusive, and conversational. For everyone.

The Impact

Kunstsilo has captured attention both nationally and internationally, earning recognition from many. The Times listed them as one of the 100 Worlds Greatest Places to visit for 2024. And despite many challenges along the way, the museum has exceeded expectations - welcoming 150,000 visitors in its first year since opening in May 2024. A great milestone, cementing its position as a bold and vital force in the art world.
